Did You Know?

Saskatchewan has the highest rate of volunteerism in Canada.

"Bonjour!" is a well-recognized greeting and, when displayed on a pin or a desktop sign, indicates to people that French-language services are available. Government of Saskatchewan employees who display the "Bonjour!" symbol can communicate and provide services in French.

Government employees display the Bonjour! symbol to help French-speaking citizens identify who can assist them in the language they are most comfortable using.  It does not mean they are a translator or interpreter, but that they can converse in French and English, or facilitate French-language services.

For helpful tips on providing in French, including a complete list of provincial government ministry names in French, please see the Bonjour! Practical Tips for Providing Service in French Booklet and the Bilingual Glossary of Official Terms Pertaining to Ministries.

In March 2009, the Government of Saskatchewan announced the creation of a French-language Service Centre for its citizens. The Centre will serve as a single window for the public to access services and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan in French.  It will give priority to the delivery of online services and telephone services to ensure the same level of coverage for all Francophone communities in the province.
